2008 Georgia Family Business of the Year Awards
IrisBlade Pond & Patio LLC has been nominated for the 2008 Georgia Family Business of the Year Awards. The award from the Cox Family Enterprise Center recognizes and honors businesses that contribute to society and to the state.
Companies are judged on several criteria including being a well rounded successful company, having multiple family members working in the company and owning the business and lastly civic, societal and industry contributions which include financial and non-financial contributions.

Water Garden Retrofit
Daniel Saylor and Andre Theriot from IrisBlade Pond & Patio partnered with Kelly Bors from Stone Forest to retrofit the existing water garden at North Metro Technical College located in Acworth Georgia.
The partnering companies taught approximately 20 students an advanced Pond construction technique when they constructed a 30-foot Pondless Waterfall with a vanishing edge basin to replace the skimmer unit. The Biofalls unit was also replaced with a Aquascape Signature 6000.

A New Arrival!!
We are happy to announce the arrival of a little baby boy, Daniel Anthony Saylor born to Daniel Edward Saylor and Michelle Glynn Saylor. Daniel was born at 10:58 am and weighed 7 lbs, 8 ounces and was 21 ½ inches long. Mother and baby are both doing fine!

Pondemonium 2007
Rebecca Lafferty and Andre Theriot attended the weeklong networking and educational event known as Pondemonium. The industry’s premiere water gardening event was held July 14th - 22nd. In attendance were over 1000 water garden enthusiasts made up of Distributors, Contractors and Retailers from across North America.
The week consisted of a variety of classes, workshops, Standard and Advanced Build-A-Pond Days and a Building Contest “As Long As It Has Water.” 19 teams competed for the title with ‘The Pond Guy Peer Group’ and the East Coast teams taking the overall title.
Every year, the energy and passion demonstrated by both customers and employees makes me proud to be a part of this industry,” Wittstock said. “This year was no different. Ideas were exchanged, friends were made, and everyone learned a thing or two. I call that success.”
